5 Day Orkney and North Scotland Tour
We just returned from a 10 day trip to Scotland in March 2023. There were 6 in our party. The first 5 days were spent on a private tour starting in Edinburgh, winding up to Orkney and back to Edinburgh, traversing the Highlands and western Scotland on the way.
We met David, from “Your Scottish Experience”, at the Edinburgh airport and right from the start he made us feel comfortable and at ease. His vehicle comfortably sat our party of 6 with spare room and all of our luggage. It was clean inside and out and even after we tracked Highland mud into the vehicle, David made the extra effort to have a tidy vehicle when we met in the mornings for our next leg of the tour. He was ready and waiting for us every morning at the scheduled departure time.
David shared rich Scottish history and stories with us over the 5 days through a sound system in the vehicle. During some of the longer drives across the beautiful landscape he treated us to a variety of music that complemented the vista.
We made multiple stops at historic locations each day and David accompanied us to each one and provided historical insight. He made sure we had coffee breaks and comfort breaks, and made restaurant recommendations for our meals.
We parted with David at the end of day 5 but we had such an amazing trip with him, we booked him again to visit St Andrews. This was another memorable day in Scotland made even more special accompanied by David and all his deep knowledge.
The time spent with David was by far the most relaxing and enjoyable part of our trip to Scotland. His wealth of knowledge about Scottish history and his delivery of the information was engaging. His sense of humor had us laughing throughout the week. We developed a deeper appreciation of the land and the people. 5 Day Skye and the Highlands Tour
First, David took the time to have a Zoom call with my wife and I before the trip just to ensure us that we could get the most from our trip as we had several questions. David quickly put our concerns at ease. Afterwards, he stayed in contact until we arrived in Glasgow.
David picked my wife and I up at our B&B for a 7 day trip around Scotland--he was wearing his kilt! And, it became clear quickly that we had hired the perfect guide! His vehicle was spotless. David possesses that wonderful Scottish quality that can instantly make you feel welcome, like an old seeing an old friend--and he had such a genuine positive energy to him that both my wife and I felt less like we had hired a guide and more like we had made a friend--rare these days. David's knowledge on Scottish history would shame my college history professor! No matter now off the wall our questions were (And we had a few) he had an answer. He told wonderful Fairy stories when we reached the Isle of Skye--so much in fact that it inspired us to buy a book on Skye's legends while there.
We wanted to do some hiking while in the Highlands and get off the beaten path--not only did David oblige but he hiked right along side us making sure we got the best photographs. In fact, he would daily pull over on the side of the road to allow me to indulge myself in setting up a tripod and taking plenty of pics. He made great recommendations on food (And drink) and even helped me on my quest to find an authentic "deer-stalker" hat for my dad. *Which, as it turned out, wasn't easy--but David finally found a place! My wife's birthday fell during the middle of our journey and so David not only helped me conceal her birthday card for a few days but picked us up on that morning with a bottle of champagne and donuts from a local bakery! That's how you do it!!!! It felt very special!
David has decades of experience and is a one man touring company! Organized, knowledgeable, caring, funny, and very efficient. Our trip was a trip of a lifetime! One we will never forget if we live to be 100! And, it was made possible by David. I can't imagine the trip without him. We will certainly go back and we will most definitely hire him as our guide. No David--no Scotland for us! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Winter Skye and Outlander Tour
David was referred to us from of good friend. He said we must use him and we are so glad we did. Five days, going around Scotland, and learning the history and fairytale stories of every beautiful background. I highly recommend using him as well. Multiday Scotland Tour
We had such a wonderful time in beautiful Scotland!
I believe we had the advantage of a small group and the consistency of a single vehicle with a knowledgeable guide. You were kind enough to share your personal experience and perspective, as well as a solid historical background of Scotland, weaving all the pieces together for us.
I did admired your ability to shepard us everywhere on the entire trip, with confidence, composure and good grace. You were able to navigate us to all the various sites safely and adhered a rather strict set of timetables.
